North of Florence, the coast highway 101 rises sharply to trace the cliff line above the Pacific Ocean on its way to Yachats, Oregon.
It is one of the most beautiful coastlines anywhere.
Just before you get to the cliffs, there is a horse stable where you can rent horses for beach rides.
Strangely enough, the local Elk population sometimes likes to graze with the horses in their pastures.
Keep your eyes open both here at the horse stable and as you drive north along the cliffs for both elk and deer.
